The general cargo ship LINDEN ARROW, loaded with steel and cement, departed from Penglai port area of Yantai Port on route to Ecuador in South America. This voyage marks the inauguration of a new general cargo shipping route linking Penglai and Ecuador.

With this addition, Yantai Port now boasts 26 international general cargo routes. Its increasingly globalized and concentrated service network has contributed greatly to helping domestic enterprises reach international markets.

As one of the 15 gateways along the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and a logistics hub for general cargo in northern China, Yantai Port has seized development opportunities presented by the BRI to launch China's first Port-dominated General Cargo Multimodal Development Alliance in December 2023. 

The route has been a collaborative effort with alliance members and domestic building material procurers. Through precisely catering to the local market demands for infrastructure, Yantai Port has introduced efficient and smooth end-to-end logistics solutions. Its efforts have created a service system of integrated supply chains covering procurement, loading and unloading, transportation, transit, and other links. All these efforts have culminated in the successful launch of the route.

To ensure cargo is handled successfully, Penglai Port has established a marketing group with alliance members to design logistics solutions and offer customized integrated supply chain solutions to customers.

The shipowner, alliance members, and building material procurers unanimously praised Yantai Port's seamless operations, which have optimized cabin space and ensured timely vessel schedules. Its recognition as the "nation's best general cargo terminal" is well-deserved.
