The vessel Shagang Faith, carrying 294,400 metric tons of Guinean bauxite, was unloaded at Yantai Port of Shandong Port Group (SPG) on Oct 13 before heading back to Africa, setting a new global record for the unloading of single-vessel bauxite.

During the Shagang Faith's time at Yantai Port, the port formulated a specialized vessel operation plan, reaching an unloading rate of 3,083 tons per hour, with an average daily unloading rate of 74,007 tons. The port's quick unloading speed, high operational efficiency, and comprehensive service capabilities received high praise from all parties, further enhancing the reputation of Yantai Port's services for the loading and unloading of large-scale vessels.

In recent years, Yantai Port has collaborated with the Winning Consortium to establish a full logistics network for bauxite transportation from African mines to Chinese end-users, continuously deepening the world-class bauxite supply chain comprehensive service system based at the port.

The Boké port area and Kimbo port area, operated by Yantai Port, have accumulated a total bauxite output of over 360 million tons, accounting for more than half of all Guinean bauxite exports, demonstrating the initiative and discourse power of SPG in the global bauxite supply chain.

Yantai Port has introduced the world's first specialized terminal control technology for bulk cargo handling in the domestic unloading and distribution field, ranking as the world's top port for bauxite imports for the past 13 years straight.
