For centuries, ports and cities have been interdependent, promoting each other through various stages of development. Throughout this time, there have been instances of resonance and mutual growth, as well as conflicts and tensions between ports and cities.
SPG has implemented ESG management and developed an ESG management system. Guided by a strategic plan emphasizing ecological priorities and the integration of port and city, measures such as building green and low-carbon ports in a garden-like style, increasing technological innovation and enhancing modern governance capabilities have been taken. These actions have laid a solid foundation for green ecological development, promoting harmonious coexistence and mutual prosperity between the port and the city.
SPG has also integrated ESG principles into its production and operations.
The group has established the first zero-carbon port in China and the first intelligent, green double-five-star port, with the proportion of clean energy continuously increasing.
SPG also embraces its role as a state-owned enterprise and has been recognized as a responsible corporate citizen in Shandong for the past four years straight.
In addition, the group has established a governance structure that is legally defined, transparent in responsibilities, well-coordinated, and effectively balances power, strengthening compliance and risk management capabilities.
