Luxi (Western Shandong) International Land Port recently obtained an international port code, CNLCH, from the United Nations (UN).
The "CN" represents "China", while "LCH" stands for "Liaocheng", the location of the land port.
The approval of the international port code marks a milestone for the Luxi International Land Port as it gets an official "identification card" to engage in international trade and transportation systems. Additionally, this designation facilitates the transformation of the land port into an international hub, positioning it as a port of departure/destination in international trade.
Jointly developed by Shandong Port Group (SPG), the Liaocheng Municipal People's Government and China Railway Jinan Group, the Luxi International Land Port is one of Shandong's key 2023 projects. Following the strategic cooperation agreement signed between SPG and Liaocheng in 2020, the two sides have synergized efforts to accelerate the development of the land port and foster deep-seated port-industry-city integration.
Based on the international port code, goods can be transported to the designated Luxi International Land Port from overseas, allowing for streamlined processes such as the bill of lading and customs declaration directly at the port. This can eliminate the need for several procedures in international trade, cutting logistics costs and enhancing the product value for import and export enterprises.
Meanwhile, efforts will be made to optimize the rail-to-road transport structure and promote the convergence of shipping, insurance, finance and other advanced service industries at the land port. These efforts will comprehensively help SPG expedite the building of international logistics corridors featuring east-west connections and land-sea linkage.
