Shandong Port Group (SPG) recently held ceremonies in Qingdao and Yantai to mark the operation and commencement of its world-class marine port cluster construction projects.

The projects are part of SPG's efforts to accelerate the development of a world-class marine port cluster, contributing to Qingdao's quest to become an international shipping center. It also represents a significant step forward for the collaborative efforts between SPG and Yantai in enhancing port-city connectivity and fostering collaborative development. These advancements will further deepen port-industry-city integration and enhance SPG's contribution to Shandong's high-quality socio-economic development.

In Qingdao, SPG announced a total of 29 key projects, including those which were completed and began operating last year, those which are currently under construction, and those which have been launched in 2025, with a total investment of 93.4 billion yuan ($12.89 billion). The projects will provide strong support for the economic development of Qingdao.

Meanwhile, in Yantai, SPG introduced a total of 31 key projects worth 75.72 billion yuan, which are either already operating, under construction, or being planned for 2025. The projects are a critical part of Yantai Port's efforts to build a world-class sea port and play a crucial role for SPG and Yantai in further enhancing port-city integrated development.
