A sea-rail intermodal freight train carrying 300 metric tons of refrigerated wasabi departed from Yinchuan city in Ningxia Hui autonomous region on May 12, heading to Qingdao Port in East China's Shandong province. From Qingdao, the cargo will be shipped to European destinations, including Poland's Port of Koper. This marks the launch of the "Yinchuan–Qingdao Port One-Container" refrigerated train service, developed jointly by Shandong Port Land-Sea International Logistics Group and Sinotrans (Ningxia) Logistics Development Co Ltd.

The new service integrates railway and maritime transport into a seamless route, offering more convenient and efficient international logistics. With simplified procedures and no need for cargo transshipment along the way, it is expected to reduce overall logistics costs by up to 20 percent for customers.

Situated at the junction of Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, and Inner Mongolia, Yinchuan is a key node on the Silk Road Economic Belt and benefits from multiple national strategies, including ecological protection of the Yellow River basin and development of the western region. Taking advantage of this strategic location, Shandong Port Logistics has expanded services tailored to local industrial needs, including previous launches of intermodal export container trains and unified waybill services.

In January, the group held a promotional event in Yinchuan and signed cooperation agreements with several enterprises, setting the stage for this new service. Looking ahead, the group plans to further improve logistics efficiency, strengthen inland-port-industry connectivity, and support inland exporters with more accessible global routes.
