The new trans-provincial intermodal train service channel of the Delongyan Railway is now fully operational.

A freight train laden with bauxite imported from Guinea set off from the West Port Area of Yantai Port, a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group, traversing over 1,000 kilometers to reach aluminum processing enterprises in Inner Mongolia on June 13. This is the first passage of a freight train into the national railway network via the Delongyan Railway.

The departure of this train signifies the establishment of a new direct land and sea route along the Yellow River, spanning 1,000 kilometers from Yantai and even the Jiaodong region to the central and western regions of China. This further bolsters Yantai's stature as a comprehensive national transportation hub city for railway transport.

Data indicates that this channel will significantly reduce logistics time with direct service throughout the journey, shortening railway transport distance by 152 kilometers compared to previous models. This decrease in transport time by six hours significantly reduces comprehensive logistics costs for enterprises. Moreover, it provides robust transportation support to regional economies, ensures the smooth operation of industrial supply chains, and contributes to the national "dual carbon" strategy – peaking carbon emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060.
