World's largest car carrier embarks on maiden voyage from Yantai Port
The vessel Anji Soundness, the world's largest car carrier, with a 9,500-Car-Equivalent-Unit (CEU) capacity, set sail on its maiden voyage to Europe from Yantai Port of Shandong Port Group on June 20.
The vessel was carrying over 4,000 car exports, becoming the first 9,500-CEU vehicle carrier to arrive at a port in northern China. The seamless integration of this colossal car carrier with a world-class specialized terminal has underscored SPG's commitment to the stability of global industrial and supply chains.

Measuring 228 meters in length and 37.8 meters in width, the carrier features 13 decks and is capable of satisfying the loading requirements of various vehicles.
Yantai Port has worked closely with port-related institutions, forming a special team to address the carrier's large carrying capacity and time-sensitive car concentration. By streamlining cargo concentration and vessel loading, the port has significantly reduced vessel berthing time, winning praise from both the carrier and customers.
In recent years, Yantai Port has launched 11 foreign trade routes and five domestic trade routes. This has allowed for full connectivity with major global vehicle terminals and expanded its service coverage to over 50 auto brands. The port's international vehicle transit volume ranks first among Chinese coastal ports, while its foreign trade volume ranks third in China.
