A Shandong provincial delegation led by deputy governor Sun Ximin concluded a week-long mission to Peru and Chile on July 27, securing port and logistics agreements that deepen China-Latin America trade ties.

Li Fengli, general manager of Shandong Port Group (SPG), accompanied the delegation from July 21 to 27. At twin forums in Lima and Santiago – branded the China (Shandong)-Peru and China (Shandong)-Chile Economic and Trade Exchanges – Qingdao Port signed a cooperation framework with Chancay Port, while SPG's overseas development arm partnered with China Harbour Engineering Company and Hebei Wenfeng Industrial Group.

The pacts cover South American terminal construction, automated yard upgrades, new logistics corridors and staff training. Officials called the accords "benchmark projects" for bilateral cooperation.

Beyond the ceremonies, the delegation visited Chinese embassies, the Shandong Chamber of Commerce in Peru and the China-Chile Investment and Trade Promotion Association. Local partners praised SPG's global network and integrated supply-chain services, pledging to broaden collaboration and "build distinctive supply chains" linking Asia-Pacific and South America.
