The containership OKIANA arrived at Qingdao Port this week carrying pulp. It was then loaded with Chinese export cargo for Rotterdam, marking the opening of the first direct "Brazil-Qingdao-Netherlands" logistics channel.

The vessel discharged pulp before filling its empty holds with containers of domestic goods, eliminating ballast legs and cutting transit time for Chinese exports to Europe. Shandong Port Group, parent of Qingdao Port, hailed the route as a new bridge for "Made in China" products reaching global markets faster.

As the world's largest pulp import port, Qingdao Port has continuously improved its capabilities in pulp unloading, storage, distribution, and transportation. The port has established a comprehensive global logistics network that integrates sea and land routes, connecting domestic and international markets.

It has also introduced an integrated loading and unloading model that combines pulp, containers, and general cargo, streamlining the supply chain and reducing handling times.

Qingdao Port implements customized plans for each vessel, coordinating production schedules and pre-staging containers at the dock.

Specialized teams and equipment are deployed to handle general cargo, ensuring efficient loading and maximizing cabin utilization. This approach ensures quick berthing, loading, and departure, further enhancing Qingdao Port's reputation for high-quality services.
