Shandong Port Group (SPG), a key provincial enterprise, has deepened its presence in Southeast Asia through a series of high-level visits and strategic agreements. From Sept 22 to 27, Huo Gaoyuan, chairman of SPG, led a delegation accompanying the Shandong province and Qingdao city delegations on visits to Malaysia, Vietnam, and Cambodia.

During the visit, Shandong province held two large-scale economic and trade exchange conferences in Malaysia and Vietnam, while Qingdao city hosted a symposium for Chinese enterprises in Cambodia. SPG participated fully in these events, with local government officials and representatives from Chinese-invested companies praising the group's global network scale and innovative practices in transitioning from a "single port operator" to an "integrated port service provider". They expressed hopes of collaborating with SPG across multiple supply chain sectors to build international logistics corridors.

Southeast Asia, a key region under the Belt and Road Initiative, is a major source and destination for SPG's import and export cargo. The delegation conducted field inspections of two key projects: the Johann Logistics Port Klang yard in Malaysia and Cambodia's Kampot Port. Both projects offer significant development potential.

As a result of the visit, Qingdao Port, Rizhao Port, the overseas development group, and the vocational education group of SPG signed five strategic cooperation agreements with partners. These include equity acquisition agreements, joint venture cooperation agreements, and industry-education collaboration agreements. The agreements aim to promote complementary advantages and resource sharing in areas such as project development and industry-education cooperation, setting new benchmarks for collaboration.
