Yantai Port of Shandong Port Group (SPG) has established its second integrated "photovoltaic-storage-charging-intelligent control" zero-carbon roll-on/roll-off (RORO) passenger terminal. The Longkou RORO passenger zero-carbon terminal recently received a carbon neutrality certification from China Classification Society Certification Company.

This project represents Yantai Port's latest milestone in advancing green development through technological innovation as part of its "dual carbon" strategy. The terminal features a 3.25MW rooftop PV system across four warehouses and the passenger terminal, along with four "sunflower" PV systems in the station square. Combined with a 0.25MW/0.5MWh PV carport and energy storage facilities, the setup ensures a stable power supply to 13 charging piles, the terminal building, shore power, and lighting.

The energy and carbon management and control system deployed at the terminal acts as a "smart brain", enabling real-time monitoring and intelligent regulation of energy use. This ensures every kilowatt-hour of electricity is traceable and every emission reduction measure is accurately measurable.

Since its June grid connection, the project has generated 1.9 million kWh of electricity, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1,200 metric tons. This initiative not only provides eco-friendly charging convenience for passengers but also marks another breakthrough for Yantai Port in green energy.
