Yantai Port launches Australia-Yantai-Nantong logistics channel
Yantai Port has opened a new Australia-Yantai-Nantong logistics channel, adding a direct river-sea multimodal transport corridor between the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea region and the Yangtze River area. The channel was launched after iron ore from Australia was blended at Yantai Port and transported to Nantong recently.
Yantai Port developed a one-stop logistics solution of "ore import, port storage, ore blending, and river-sea intermodal transport" based on market research and customer needs. The blended iron ore enters the Yangtze River basin via the new channel without changing ships, maximizing cost savings and creating a seamless logistics corridor for foreign-trade iron ore.
Before operations, Yantai Port's mineral company initiated a ship dynamic pre-control mechanism and collaborated with port units to achieve "zero-delay" in handling procedures. The company utilized an intelligent scheduling system to dynamically generate the best operation plan, ensuring high-precision blending and meeting customer standards.
Focusing on building an international mineral products bonded blending center, Yantai Port is accelerating the development of the blending business. Leveraging its fully automatic dry bulk wharf and pilot bonded blending businesses, it has expanded bonded blending of multiple goods, such as iron ore, copper concentrate, crude oil, and gold ore, injecting new momentum into promoting the bonded economy and supporting high-quality trade development.
