A container vessel named Huizhong 8 recently docked at the No 1 jetty container terminal of Dongying Port of Bohaiwan Port Group, marking the official launch of a container service between Dongying Port and Yantai Port. The new container service creates a seaborne bridge connecting Northern Shandong and the Jiaodong Peninsula, injecting strong momentum into the regional industrial and supply chains.

The Dongying-Yantai container service is jointly launched by Bohaiwan Port, COSCO Shipping Lines, and Shandong Marine Corporation. With a one-way voyage time of merely 14 hours, the hinterland cargoes can be directly shipped from Dongying Port to Yantai Port and then transited to domestic coastal ports and international ports in Japan and South Korea via Yantai Port. Compared with traditional transportation modes, the new service will effectively reduce the comprehensive logistics costs for hinterland enterprises and provide more convenient and cost-effective logistics solutions for the export of goods from Dongying and its surroundings.

According to port insiders, the No 1 Jetty Container Port in Dongying is surrounded by petrochemical industries, with increasing logistics demands for raw material imports and finished product exports. Aligning with the development plans of Dongying Economic and Technological Development Zone, Baohaiwan Port has launched the new service to build an integrated container service platform, advance integrated port-city development and erect a maritime bridge for regional industrial upgrading and economic growth.

Going forward, Bohaiwan Port will closely follow the logistics needs of hinterland enterprises, increasing the frequency of sailings to achieve weekly operations. The aim is to support the development of hinterland enterprises and contribute to the coordinated progress of the regional economy.
