Shandong Port Group's (SPG) Huangdao Port Station in Qingdao's Qianwan Port area set a new daily intermodal train service handling record of 1,949 rail cars on Dec 5. This marks the fifth time this year that the Intermodal Train Service Center of Shandong Port Land-sea International Logistics Group has broken the daily bulk train handling record.

From January to November, the Qingdao Port handled 2.68 million TEUs, an 8.3 percent year-on-year increase.

As a crucial hub connecting inland regions to international markets, the Intermodal Train Service Center has continuously pushed its production capacity limits. It has formed a development trend characterized by "hub breakthroughs, multi-point synergy, and overall integration", with production records being constantly refreshed.

The center has established a precise matching mechanism to meet diverse container needs. By coordinating customer order information and linking with terminal operations planning, it ensures seamless integration from cargo arrival to transfer, effectively avoiding operational congestion and leading nationally in operational efficiency.

Adhering to an innovation-driven strategy, the center integrates technological empowerment throughout the sea-rail intermodal chain, promoting a shift toward intelligent and sustainable operations.

SPG, leveraging its role as a key hub in domestic and international dual circulation, has extended port functions inland. It has developed a three-dimensional "inland ports + intermodal train transport + international shipping routes" logistics network, enabling inland enterprises to achieve "arrival at inland ports equivalent to arrival at seaport terminals". This breaks down land-sea logistics barriers, empowers industrial upgrades, and promotes coordinated regional development.
