A cargo carrier loaded with 140 containers of alumina set sail from Wudi port area in Binzhou, headed for Suizhong port area in Huludao, Liaoning province. This marked the official launch of a container service for alumina linking Wudi in Shandong and Suizhong in Liaoning, jointly developed by Yantai Port of Shandong Port Group and Suizhong Port of Liaoning Port Group.

Together with Liaoning Port Group and Shandong Marine Corporation, Yantai Port has capitalized on its geographic advantages and the China-Africa two-way logistics corridor to combine ports, routes, and berths, thereby establishing a northbound route for alumina. With convenient and efficient logistics services, the route will facilitate economic and logistics cooperation between Shandong and Liaoning provinces, solidifying Yantai Port's position as a transit hub port for domestic trade containers in Bohai Bay.

Yantai Port, leveraging its role as a transit node for north-south logistics and a pivotal hub for domestic and foreign trade, continues to expand its water-to-water transshipment business, enhancing its influence on hinterlands such as Northeast China and the Circum-Bohai Sea region. "As the world's busiest port for bauxite imports, Yantai Port provides critical support for the stable supply of alumina raw materials and is our crucial partner," said representatives of shipowners and alumina enterprises.

During the handling operations, Yantai Port is responsible for the unloading of bauxite imports and the bulk-to-container operation. The goods are then delivered to the Wudi port area in Binzhou for processing by Shandong Marine Corporation. The resulting alumina is loaded into containers and shipped to Suizhong Port. Compared to traditional land transportation, this model shortens the distance to the eastern Inner Mongolia region by 30 percent, thereby establishing an efficient logistics service system.
