Two Chinese films nominate for 73rd Berlinale film fest
The 73rd Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) kicked off on Feb 17, Beijing time.
Nineteen films are competing for the Golden and Silver Bears, which will be awarded on February 25. Among the 19 films, two were directed by Chinese directors, namely the Art College 1994 directed by Liu Jian, and The Shadowless Tower directed by Zhang Lu.
The Art College 1994 is set in China in the 1990s, takes a look at youth through a group of art students.

Art College 1994 is a hand-painted two-dimensional animation film with a strong realistic texture, unique style and slow rhythm, drawing on the characteristics of Chinese meticulous painting.
In addition, the film also shows scenes familiar to Hangzhou people, such as the campus of the China Academy of Art, campus of Zhejiang University and Qiantang River Bridge.
This year, the Berlin International Film Festival runs from Feb 17 to Feb 26.
