Zhejiang adds 9 provincial-level high-tech industrial parks
Authorities in East China's Zhejiang province issued a notice recognizing nine high-tech industrial parks, including Hangzhou Zijingang Digital Information High-tech Industrial Park, as provincial-level high-tech industrial parks.
With this move, Zhejiang is now home to a total of eight national high-tech zones and 34 provincial-level high-tech zones.
The newly recognized nine high-tech zones accounted for 44.9 percent of annual revenue, 56.6 percent of R&D expenses, 56.1 percent of high-tech enterprises, and 47.6 percent of the added value of high-tech industries in the provincial-level high-tech zones in 2022.
Among the nine high-tech zones, seven have a high-tech industry added value accounting for over 80 percent of their total industrial output, and in four it accounts for over 90 percent, making them truly concentrated “high-tech” hubs.
The development of industrial identification in the nine high-tech zones has emerged, with the output value of the three dominant industries accounting for over 70 percent of total output in the high-tech zones.
As of the end of 2022, the nine high-tech zones were home to a total of 1,517 high-tech enterprises and 2,320 small and medium-sized science and technology enterprises, accounting for 31.3 percent of all high-tech enterprises with only 1.8 percent of Zhejiang’s land area.
