Updated: November 13, 2024 L M S

The upcoming Second Liangzhu Forum will take place in Hangzhou from Nov 25 to 27, the Zhejiang Provincial Government Information Office announced on Nov 13.

The forum, themed on "exchanges and mutual learning for a new model of human progress", will welcome around 100 international guests from 63 countries and regions.

The event also unveiled its official logo, which was inspired by the iconic "divine-human-beast motif" found in Liangzhu culture, symbolizing a "civilizational eye" that bridges the past, present, and future. Its water patterns symbolize Liangzhu's ancient wetlands, emphasizing the unity and diversity of Chinese civilization. The logo also shows intricate micro-carving techniques seen in Liangzhu jade artifacts, reflecting early examples of cross-cultural exchange.

The forum will feature an opening ceremony and main forum on the morning of Nov 25, where prominent domestic and international figures will deliver speeches. Three parallel forums, including dialogues between Chinese and foreign writers, archaeologists, and musicians, will take place from the afternoon of Nov 25 to Nov 26. Three supplementary activities will also be held, such as exhibitions of the "Comprehensive Collection of Chinese Historical Paintings" and "Chinese Silk Art Series," a Liangzhu-themed concert, and a showcase of Zhejiang's historic industries.
