Jiaxing Nanhu Senior High School
The new campus of Jiaxing Nanhu Senior High School affiliated with Beijing Normal University in Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, finished construction on March 26, local media reported.
The new campus covers an area of 200 mu (13.33 hectares), costs 340 million yuan ($48 million) and is designed to accommodate 2,400 students in 48 classes.
In addition to general teaching facilities, the campus also has classrooms specifically designed for different courses as well as innovation laboratories.
The design of the campus combines the watertown features of the Jiangnan region with the rich cultural resources of Beijing Normal University, accentuating the rivers, bridges, and scenic views.
In 2015, the Jiaxing Municipal Government signed a cooperation agreement with Beijing Normal University to establish the university's attached senior high school in the city's Nanhu district.
Two years later, the small campus with its outdated teaching facilities is no longer able to satisfy long-term development goals; therefore, Jiaxing authorities decided to relocate the school to Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone.
