Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province is offering free nucleic acid tests from Dec 14 to 16 as part of its COVID-19 prevention and control efforts, local media reported.

Starting from Dec 1, people who are not able to present a negative result of a nucleic acid test taken within 48 hours of departure when arriving in Jiaxing can receive one free nucleic acid test at the nearest nucleic acid test site.

Zhejiang reported 43 new cases on Dec 14, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 236, of which 161 confirmed cases and one asymptomatic case have been reported in Shaoxing so far with 38 cases newly reported as of 4 pm on Dec 14.
