Jiaxing receives 120m yuan in donations in two months

The Jiaxing Charity Federation in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, received 120 million yuan ($18.83 million) in donations during its two-month charitable donation activity, local media reported recently.

The donation activity, which lasted from Sept 2 to Nov 30, encouraged local companies, social organizations and residents to donate one day's worth of income. More than 240,000 local residents and 3,751 companies participated in the activity.
According to staff members from Jiaxing Charity Federation, the donations will be used to help people living in poverty, senior residents, and people with disabilities.
