Fresh meat mooncakes
Fresh meat mooncakes, a perfect combination of Suzhou-style mooncakes and fresh meat dumplings, have long been regarded as one of the most distinctive snacks in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.
This snack is thought to have originated near the end of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and the beginning of the Republic of China (1912-1949), according to books and records about local food.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Wufangzhai fresh meat mooncakes are the most renowned delicacy. The popular named-brand product is crisp and golden on both sides, and has delicious juicy meat inside.
