The Jiaxing delegation to the 13th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress organized a plenary meeting to discuss the provincial government work report made by the governor during the sixth session of the conference held in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, on Jan 17.
Zhang Bing, deputy to the National People's Congress and Party secretary of Jiaxing, said that the government work report is very inspiring. It summarizes the achievements made by the province and analyzes the problems over the past year.
Zhang added that Jiaxing will continue pursuing high-quality development to contribute to Zhejiang's construction of a demonstration zone for achieving common prosperity in 2022. The city will also focus on investment promotion, foreign trade and low-carbon development, and create a more favorable business environment.
Li Jun, acting-mayor of Jiaxing, noted that the government work report has shored up their confidence in the development of Zhejiang this year and it mentions the look-ahead layout of infrastructure.
Li expressed hopes that the provincial government will offer more support to Jiaxing's major infrastructure projects involving the railway, airport, and expressway.
He also expects more support from provincial authorities in scientific innovation.
According to the provincial government work report, Zhejiang achieved comprehensive socioeconomic development in 2021, with its GDP increasing 8.1 percent year-on-year to 7.35 trillion yuan ($1.16 trillion).
