Jiaxing athlete to compete in Beijing Winter Olympics

Du Jia'ni, an athlete from Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, has been given the green light to participate in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, which will take place from Feb 4 to Feb 20 in Beijing and Zhangjiakou, a city in Hebei province.
Born in 1999, Du was admitted to the track and field team of the Haining Sports School for Young Children in 2008. She was selected to be a part of the provincial track and field team four years later.
In 2019, Du was drafted into the national team where she started training in bobsleigh and tobogganing.

The bobsleigh and tobogganing competition at Beijing Winter Olympics will be held at the National Bobsleigh and Tobogganing Center from Feb 14 to 20. Four gold medals are up for grabs for this discipline.
Two other athletes from Zhejiang have also been qualified for the Winter Olympics while 12 Zhejiang locals will referee competitions during the Games.
More than 170 Chinese athletes will compete in the upcoming Winter Olympics, a record high.
