Four industrial parks in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, along with five counterparts in the province, will receive support from the provincial government to construct a provincial international industrial cooperation park, local media reported on Feb 9.

The four listed parks are the Zhejiang Sino-UK (Xiuzhou) Innovation Park, Zhejiang Sino-German (Pinghu) Industrial Cooperation Park, Zhejiang Sino-UK (Haining) Industrial Cooperation Park, and Zhejiang Sino-South Korea (Tongxiang) Industrial Cooperation Park.

Although the industrial parks in Xiuzhou and Haining are focused on cooperation with the United Kingdom, they vary in the fields they focus on.

The Xiuzhou industrial park focuses on bringing in foreign-invested projects involving high-end equipment manufacturing, auto parts, and healthcare. The industrial park is currently home to 35 projects invested by companies from Europe and the United States.

The Haining industrial park places its emphasis on research and innovation platforms and it has attracted more than 10 such platforms, including the Zhejiang University-University of Edinburgh Institute and the Zhejiang University - University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Institute.

With a strong industrial foundation in auto parts and a favorable business environment, the Zhejiang Sino-German (Pinghu) Industrial Cooperation Park is home to more than 50 European companies, including 34 from German-speaking regions.

In the first 11 months of 2021, contractual foreign investment from European countries and the United States in Pinghu was valued at $193 million, accounting for 27 percent of the total.

The Zhejiang Sino-South Korean (Tongxiang) Industrial Cooperation Park boasts a strong industrial foundation and development potential and is expected to increase the attractiveness of Tongxiang to foreign investment.
