Jiaxing ranked first provincewide in grain yield

The grain yield of Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province totaled 978,000 metric tons in 2021, 3,000 kilograms more than the yield in 2020 and the highest in the province for the 16th consecutive year, local media reported on Feb 22.
The city had more than 2.98 million mu of cultivated areas in 2021, including 1.16 million mu of grain producing areas.

In recent years, Jiaxing has pursued quality development in the agricultural industry by promoting agricultural technologies.
Drones are now used to sow seeds and spray pesticide in farmlands, and a digital management system has been employed to monitor farmlands.
In addition, Jiaxing has cultivated 162 agricultural companies, 1,214 farmers' cooperatives, and 7,081 family farms at municipal level or above.
Last December, the Jiaxing government cooperated with COFCO Corporation to create the Jiaxing Rice brand, which currently offers four kinds of Jiaxing-grown rice.
