Jiaxing develops cross-border platform to support textile trade

Wangjiangjing town in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, is developing a cross-border business-to-business platform named Si Lu Tong as companies shift from selling products overseas to expanding full export ecosystems.

The platform integrates traditional platform models with digital tools to create an online-offline channel for regional textile brands to reach global markets.

Si Lu Tong began development after winning its bid in October and is expected to launch on Jan 1, 2026. The platform will feature two main sections: an unfinished-fabric raw material market and a finished-fabric mall, supporting coordinated development of Wangjiangjing's textile industry in domestic and international markets. A global spot-fabric information center will also be built to connect supply and demand across the textile chain.

The service system targets the town's enterprises above a designated size, many of which only produce unfinished fabric or focus solely on domestic trade. To support their development, the platform provides trade services, resource matching, and assistance with market expansion.

The platform completed its first shipment, exporting more than $100,000 worth of fabric to Vietnam, laying groundwork for scaled operations. It is also partnering with training institutions, foreign students, and livestream agencies to expand digital marketing and cultivate a cross-border talent base. Coordination with nearby apparel and luggage clusters is underway to strengthen regional industrial ties.
