Qingtian's intangible cultural heritage shines at Lantern Festival celebrations
At the spectacular dragon dance and lantern dance parade, which took place on Feb 11 in Lishui, Zhejiang province, the intangible cultural heritage performances from Qingtian county proved to be a standout highlight.
The intangible cultural heritage performances featured the Qingtian fish-shaped lantern dance and the Fushan cloth dragon dance – both winning rapturous applause from the audience.

At the event, dancers moved in sync with the lively music, creating beautiful patterns with their fish-shaped lanterns. Meanwhile, the colorful Fushan cloth dragons, skillfully maneuvered by performers, leaped and twisted like real dragons, adding a festive and enjoyable atmosphere to the celebration.
"The Qingtian fish-shaped lantern dance delivers good fortune and prosperity, while the Fushan cloth dragon dance expresses wishes for the harvest and happiness – both of which are representative intangible cultural heritage items of Qingtian," said Jin Wanxin from the county's intangible cultural heritage center.
In recent years, Qingtian has made great efforts to promote the revival of local intangible cultural heritage. It's created special intangible cultural heritage interactive spaces, integrated cultural inheritance into contemporary life, and brought new energy to intangible cultural heritage.
