A rare silver pheasant, as a strikingly beautiful bird with distinctive appearance, was recently spotted in the Longquan Mountain scenic area, which is located in Longquan, a county-level city in Lishui, Zhejiang province.

Known as the "white phoenix", the silver pheasant is a nationally protected species in China, celebrated for its noble and elegant appearance and unique feather coloration.

Silver pheasants typically reside in dense evergreen broadleaf forests and valley rainforests with sparse undergrowth. These birds primarily feed on plant shoots, tubers, fruits, seeds, and insects.

The silver pheasants' feathers are pure white, with black stripes and spots. Their striking red cheeks add a splash of color, making it even more captivating.

Beyond its stunning appearance, silver pheasants are also valued for their rarity and ecological significance.

In recent years, improved ecological conditions and conservation efforts have led to an increase in sightings of rare wildlife in the Longquan Mountain scenic area.
