The Wenzhou municipal sports bureau and Spain's Valencia Football Club signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Oct 25, signaling the start of Wenzhou's "Football Goes Global" initiative.
Many new cooperative activities for soccer will be under this partnership, including establishing a training base in Wenzhou, inviting Valencia's coaches to Wenzhou for coaching clinics, and setting up an overseas training base for Wenzhou's youth to develop local soccer talent.
Founded in 1919, Valencia Football Club is one of the top clubs in La Liga. The team has won six La Liga titles and eight Copa del Rey trophies, achieving remarkable success on the European stage.
"Spain is a soccer powerhouse and Valencia is a formidable team in La Liga. This collaboration will provide strong support for the development of soccer in Wenzhou, and we also hope to use soccer as a bridge to enhance broader exchanges between Wenzhou and Valencia," said a representative from the Wenzhou municipal sports bureau.
According to a representative from Valencia Football Club, the club will bring advanced international soccer development concepts and talent cultivation models to Wenzhou. This is expected to promote rapid development in various aspects of Wenzhou's soccer scene.
