As a traditional Tomb-sweeping Day food, suckling pigs see a surge in sales as the holiday approaches.

Suckling pigs have a unique color, crispy skin, and tender meat. They represent good luck.

Guangzhou Restaurant has not raised the price of their suckling pig this year, and has implemented a discount for bookings before April 5. To date, Guangzhou Restaurant has more than 400 suckling pig orders.

Datang Roast Goose has also launched suckling pig gift boxes, which are priced at 358 yuan ($52) for pigs weighing 3.5 to 4 kilograms, and 458 yuan for those weighing 4.5 to 5.2 kg.

Although roast goose and any other roasted meat are also traditional Tomb-sweeping Day foods, their sales are far less than suckling pig dishes. Suckling pig sales account for 80 percent of the pre-ordered Tomb-sweeping Day food.
