The Guangzhou Metro Line 11 is planning to establish a key station dedicated to intangible cultural heritage (ICH) recently. The Pazhou Station in Haizhu district is set to be designated as a focal point for showcasing the traditional art of Guangdong lion dancing, a prominent ICH project. Stations such as Longtan, Chisha, and Jiangtai Road are set to be constructed using specific design styles.

In total, the line is poised to feature five key stations dedicated to ICH, namely Pazhou Station, Guangzhou East Station, Guangzhou Railway Station, Fangcun Station, and the Chinese Medicine University Station, aiming to exhibit representative ICH projects such as Cantonese opera, Cantonese porcelain, Cantonese embroidery, Guangdong lion dancing, and Guangzhou wood carving. The remaining stations are designed as standard ICH stations, striving to become China's first exemplary ICH line.

This metro line represents the first loop line in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and aims to create an underground ICH corridor. The design team is expected to delve into the city's historical and cultural values, integrating them into urbanization and city planning.

The Line 11 spans a total length of 44.2 kilometers and encompasses 32 stations. The renovation of stations intends to cover 29 stations, excluding the Yuancun Station, Tianhe Park Station, and Tianxin Village Station.

This line anticipates connecting the old and new parts of Guangzhou city, covering authentic Cantonese lifestyle elements such as food, culture, commerce, and scenic areas, thereby offering citizens an experience of the quality and warmth of Cantonese life.
