On July 13, new traffic regulations were implemented for the Haixin Bridge, a famous internet celebrity attraction in Guangzhou's Haizhu district.
Effective immediately, visitors must make advance timed reservations for access during statutory holidays. At other times, the bridge is open for crossing without reservations between 7am and 11pm daily, with the last crossing allowed at 10:45pm.
Haixin Bridge, as Guangzhou's first pedestrian bridge across the Pearl river, is one of the world's largest-span and widest curved beam arch pedestrian bridges. Its planar shape draws inspiration from the characteristics of the Cantonese Opera "sleeve fluttering in the wind", while the facade arches incorporate elements of the "Lingnan Guqin", blending the cultural imagery of Lingnan. This showcases a perfect fusion of modernity and tradition, and serves as a signature of Guangzhou.
During crossings, the bridge is poised to maintain its existing security measures and control pedestrian flow based on maximum capacity when necessary to ensure a safe and comfortable crossing environment.
This adjustment sets to make it more convenient for residents and tourists to visit Haixin Bridge, admire the beautiful cityscape on both banks, and revel in its unique charm.
