Guangzhou reports one more asymptomatic COVID-19 case

One new asymptomatic COVID-19 infection was reported in Guangzhou on Sept 5 after a rigorous investigation was launched. 

Meanwhile, as of Sept 5, 52 designated medical institutions in Guangzhou will provide nucleic acid testing services 24 hours a day for key demographics. Also, visitors from Guangzhou to Macao must now comply with quarantine arrangements upon arrival.

A new report of a COVID-19 infection in a local Chinese national, a female aged 47 and a resident of Qifu Road, Yuncheng Street in Baiyun district of Guangzhou, has emerged. The individual is employed at the Donghai Building (Tokai Hotel) in Yuexiu district.

On Sept 4, the individual was identified as a close contact of Xu, the person infected with COVID-19 the previous day and was placed under medical observation. During the isolation period, her second nucleic acid test returned a positive result on Sept 5.

After further examination and expert consultations, the individual was diagnosed as an asymptomatic carrier of COVID-19. After contact tracing, the following possible exposure sites in Baiyun district were identified:

-Guangzhou Children's Park

-Xiaogang Farmers' Market

-Xinshi South Road Changdachang Supermarket

Yuexiu district:

Donghai Building (Tokai Hotel), Guangzhou Ocean Hotel
