The normal fruiting period of longan is July and August. Local fruit farmers use the catalyzing technology of anti-seasonal flowering, in combination with the advantages of the light and temperature in the region to cause longan to mature during the Spring Festival period.
"Every year around Spring Festival, businessmen from all over the country will come to buy longan," said Tang.
Tang grows more than 400 longan trees, with which he earns more than 300,000 yuan a year. "With that money, I have supported my three children going to study at universities," he said, with a happy smile.

Compared with farmers' practice of self-production and self-marketing, agricultural enterprises have a high level of technology and fixed sales channels, and their products are rarely difficult to sell. At the same time, the cooperation mode of "company + cooperative + rural households " is also an effective way for farmers to increase their income and alleviate poverty, said local officials.
"Ledong is going to build its tropical high efficiency agriculture as its trump card," said Wu Chunzhu, the Party secretary of the Ledong Li autonomous county.
Wu said that Ledong will accelerate agricultural branding and standardization to realize comprehensive high efficiency production. It will also promote large-scale planting and advance the construction of auction trade markets for tropical agricultural products.
As a key South China seed breeding base, the county will use its advantage in talented professionals to boost the transformation of scientific research achievements on seed breeding into production, Wu said.
