A Hainan golf tourism introduction and marketing event was held in Sydney, the largest and most populous city in Australia, on July 1 and 2.

Sponsored by the Hainan Commission of Tourism Development, the two day activity not only publicized golf tourism in Sydney, but also realized long-term strategic cooperation between Hainan and several Australian enterprises.

Representatives of organizations and enterprises such as the Hainan Golf Association, the Haikou Mission Hills Resort, Haikou Shangri-La Hotel, and the Sydney International Golf Club participated in the promotional event.

In Australia, there are over 800,000 golfers. Therefore, golf is the most likely factor to help expand the tourism market in Australia for Hainan.

Moreover, a direct flight linking Haikou with Sydney started service on Jan 30 this year, Hainan's first non-stop intercontinental route in Oceania. It offers policies favorable for tourists travelling to Hainan to golf. The superiority of Hainan's climate, suitable for golfing all year round, is very attractive to Australian visitors, said an Australian representative present at the event.
