The Visit Sanya, China yacht has enjoyed quite a moment at St. Katharine Docks in London due to its colorful decorations, which boast a tropical style, and its illustrious title as champion of the 2017-2018 Clipper Round the World yacht race.
On Aug 25, the race village at the dock officially opened to the public and visitors were able to get a close look at the 11 competing yachts which are prepping for the 2019-2020 Clipper race that kicks off on Sep 1.

The city of Sanya has set up a special exhibition booth at the race village, offering visitors a chance to learn more about Sanya through the city's beach chairs and photos of tourism attractions, as well as duty-free malls and distinctive local delicacies, such as coconut-flavored candies, cakes, and coconut juice.
One visitor, Kelvin from Birmingham, said that he had heard that the team won the championship of last year's race and had learned that Sanya is a beautiful tropical city. There are direct flights between London and Sanya, and he said that he will make Sanya his next travel destination. After paying a visit to the exhibition booth, Kelvin also took a tourism brochure with him to learn more about the Hainan province city.
On Sep 1, the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race fleet will begin its 40,000 nautical mile endurance challenge. Simultaneously, Sanya will kick off its one-year global promotion at more than 10 stopover cities of the event.
