The city of Haikou has dispatched medical teams to checkpoints at ports in Xuwen county, to strengthen its efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Since the evening of Jan 23, the Hainan capital has sent nearly 200 personnel including medical care, disease control, police, port and shipping staff.
Officials said the teams are working around the clock at the Port of Haian, Haian New Port and the Guangdong-Hainan Railway Beigang Terminal.
