Two batches of Hainan tilapia seedlings worth $36,000 were successfully exported to Vietnam after passing through inspection and quarantine, marking the first time that the Hainan fish has been exported to the Southeast Asian country.
After the Spring Festival, due to the suspension of international routes caused by the novel coronavirus epidemic, the export of traditional aquatic animals by air was blocked.
The fingerlings were shipped to Vietnam from the Guangxi Dongxing Port by land and the export process was greatly facilitated by Wenchang Customs, which is subordinate to Haikou Customs.
Various measures were taken by Wenchang Customs to speed up exports of agricultural products, including proactively contacting enterprises to understand their export needs, conducting timely safety risk monitoring and epidemic monitoring of export agricultural products, as well as completing supervision procedures in advance. Other measures included spreading relevant policies that help enterprises "prevent epidemic and stabilize foreign trade," guiding enterprises to improve their self-inspection and self-control capabilities, instructing enterprises to make online declarations, as well as opening green channels to cut clearance time.
