On March 8, the Hainan delegation to the fifth session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) held a meeting to deliberate on the work report of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, chairman of the Standing Committee of Hainan Provincial People's Congress, and head of the delegation, expressed his complete approval of the work report.
Shen added that the NPC Standing Committee has been supporting Hainan's work during the past year, publishing the Hainan Free Trade Port Law of the People's Republic of China, which has laid a strong legal foundation for the smooth advancement of the Hainan FTP's construction. Hainan will implement the work arrangements of the NPC Standing Committee and promote high-quality development.
Feng Fei, deputy secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, governor of Hainan provincial government, and deputy head of the delegation, also affirmed the NPC Standing Committee's work during the last year.
Feng said that Hainan has been given strong support in laws and regulations, ecological environment protection, as well as rural revitalization efforts last year. He suggested that the NPC Standing Committee could guide and support Hainan in promoting the connection and adjustment of different legal systems.
Other deputies also expressed their approval of the work report, as well as made suggestions regarding the NPC's legislation, supervision, and representation work.
