Hainan will celebrate the traditional Sanyuesan Festival of the Li and Miao ethnic groups from April 2 to 5. The main venue will be set in Ledong Li autonomous county and Wuzhishan, with celebrations also held in branch venues in 13 cities and counties across the province.

During the Sanyuesan Festival, Hainan will arrange a number of folk activities that showcase the traditional customs of local ethnic groups and that have prominent local characteristics. These will include Li ethnic group's sacrificial activities, an opening ceremony and performances, a Hainan minority culture forum, an investment tourism promotion conference, Li brocade and Miao embroidery skills exhibitions and competitions, Li and Miao original folk song duet activities, ethnic minority traditional sports competitions, as well as intangible cultural heritage item experiential shows.
