Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, emphasized on April 26 that Hainan will speed up the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port with Chinese characteristics and global influence.
This was delivered when he participate in group deliberations of the fourth delegation (Danzhou, Changjiang delegation) and the first delegation (Haikou delegation) of the 8th CPC Hainan Provincial Congress.
The delegates agreed that the report of the Seventh CPC Hainan Provincial Committee comprehensively summarized the achievements of Hainan in the past five years, and planned the development blueprint for the next five years.
They also put forward suggestions on building a modern industrial system, promoting coordinated regional development and comprehensive rural vitalization, improving the level of medical care and education, protecting the ecological environment, as well as promoting high-quality tourism development.
The next five years will be a unique time period before and after the customs clearance operation of the Hainan FTP. Shen added that the province will boost the development of the four leading industries of tourism, modern service, high-tech, and high-efficiency agriculture, as well as accelerate coordinated regional development.
