On May 23, 906 Hainan medical team members arrived at Sanya Phoenix International Airport from Shanghai on four chartered flights conducted by Hainan Airlines.
In order to welcome the medical staff who contributed to Shanghai's COVID-19 fight, Hainan Airlines organized themed activities on the flight. After the chartered flight arrived, Sanya airport held a welcome ceremony for the medical staff. Afterward, they took buses to the centralized rest point.
At the beginning of April, after receiving the task of assisting Shanghai, two batches of 943 medical team members took Hainan Airlines flights on April 3 and April 9 from Hainan to Shanghai.
In the 51-day support for Shanghai's anti-epidemic work, the Hainan medical team worked at multiple locations, such as makeshift hospitals, designated hospitals, and community nucleic acid testing points. The team has taken over three makeshift hospitals in Huating, Nanxiang, and Anting that has admitted 9,126 patients, contributing to Shanghai's fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.
