Nearly 7,000 medical team members return from Hainan

On Aug 29, nearly 7,000 members of the medical teams from Fujian, Sichuan, Shandong, and other places returned from Hainan.

On the same day, Hainan held ceremonies across the province to send off the medical team members for them.

Miao Yanhong, an official of Hainan who is in charge of the logistics support works for aiding medical team members, expressed her gratitude to the medical team members on behalf of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and the Hainan Provincial People's Government at the Haikou Meilan Airport. Miao also sincerely invited medical team members to visit Hainan after the province overcomes the COVID-19 pandemic so that they can experience its charming tropical scenery.

Fujian has dispatched 1,241 medical team members to Hainan, who have been responsible for nucleic acid sampling, testing, and medical treatment work. "Hainan has achieved positive results in epidemic prevention and control. I hope it can return to normal as early as possible," said Huang Yu, the chief leader of the Fujian medical team.

Li Hui, a medical team member from Shandong province, was touched by Hainan people's enthusiasm. She expressed the hope that she can come back to the province as a tourist in the future.

Since the local COVID-19 pandemic broke out in Hainan in early August, more than 20,000 medical staff from 20 provincial areas across the country came to the province to help its COVID-19 prevention and control efforts.

Currently, the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control situation in Hainan is steadily improving, with the number of COVID-19 cases further decreasing.

Since Aug 26, medical team members from all over Hainan have started to return to their homes.
