On Sept 3, Hainan set a new single-day low of new COVID-19 cases during its current COVID-19 outbreak, with Sanya reporting no new cases at the community level, according to the press conference held by the Hainan COVID-19 Prevention and Control Headquarters on Sept 4.

On Sept 3, Hainan reported 29 new COVID-19 cases, including eight new confirmed cases and 21 asymptomatic cases. The island set a new single-day low of new cases in the current outbreak, with all the new cases reported only in Sanya. The number of newly reported cases in Sanya on Sept 3 was the same as that on Sept 2, with no reported cases at the community level.

There were no new infections on Sept 3 in other cities or counties in the province. Chengmai has reported zero new cases for three consecutive days, while no new cases have been reported in Dongfang, Wanning, and Lingao for four, five, and six days in a row respectively, signifying a faint possibility of a pandemic resurgence there. Qionghai, Ding'an, Changjiang, and Wuzhishan have reported no new COVID-19 cases for over 15 consecutive days.

As of Sept 3, a total of 12,617 members of the medical teams that came from Guangdong, Shandong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and other provinces had left Hainan.

The province has guided cities and counties to do a good job in the production, transportation, and marketing of agricultural products, as well as ensured smooth travel for migrant workers and vehicles. It helped purchase 87 metric tons of unsold agricultural products on Sept 3, and has helped to sell 2,260 tons of unsold agricultural products in total.
