Hainan Free Trade Port has attracted the attention of many guests at the 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is being held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10. Many enterprises expressed interest in deepening their cooperation with Hainan and sharing the opening-up opportunities represented by the FTP.
On Dec 6, after visiting the Hainan Pavilion, Wu Xin, the general manager of UCB China, said, "We have already talked about cooperation with the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone. We now have more confidence in investing in the Hainan FTP after visiting the Hainan Pavilion."
As an innovative biopharmaceutical company with global reach, UCB participated in the expo for the first time to showcase some of its most noteworthy achievements.
In the exhibition area showcasing China's opening-up achievements over the past decade, Chen Wei, who manages a trading enterprise, watched the video introducing Hainan FTP. He was also attracted by the introductions to, and exhibitions about, the China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) and Haikou International Duty Free City, and expressed his willingness to cooperate with the Hainan FTP moving forward.
In the consumer goods and other exhibition areas, representatives of Richemont, Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH), L'Oreal, Burberry, Tapestry, Panasonic, Yamaha, Schott and other enterprises held in-depth talks with personnel from the Hainan International Economic Development Bureau and other units to discuss investing in the Hainan FTP, participating in the CICPE, and other forms of cooperation.
Focusing on the policy advantages offered by the Hainan FTP, such as zero tariffs, some enterprises plan to carry out trade, processing and production, together with other forms of investment cooperation with Hainan.
