Hainan delegation to promote investment in Hong Kong, Germany

On Dec 9, a delegation representing the People's Government of Hainan Province set out from Haikou to promote investment opportunities for the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) in Hong Kong and Germany. This is the first time since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic that a provincial delegation has led an investment promotion campaign overseas.

In line with the gradual and orderly resumption of international economic and trade exchanges, the primary focus of this round of overseas investment promotion is to promote Hainan for global investment and attract investments for major projects to accelerate the construction of the Hainan FTP. The delegation also aims to turn Hainan into a demonstration zone for China's reform and opening-up.

Hong Kong and Hainan have a long history of fruitful cooperation. Since the release of the Hainan FTP master plan, the collaboration between the two regions has continued to improve. During their time in Hong Kong, the Hainan delegation will visit key local enterprises and hold a series of promotional activities and signing ceremonies. They aim to deepen cooperation in finance, high-end commerce, technology, tourism consumption, jewelry, and other industries.

During their stay in Germany, the Hainan delegation will promote the Hainan FTP and cooperation between Hainan and Germany in vital areas such as high-tech and advanced manufacturing. The delegation will also negotiate and sign contracts with several key enterprises and universities and promote the implementation of several projects.
