The main exhibition venue for the grand event, the facility is the largest single hangar in any general airport in Asia. It can accommodate eight Boeing 737 planes, 32 Gulfstream G150 luxury jets, or 100 two-seat or four-seat aircraft at the same time.

After the expo, it will serve a maintenance center for Wuhan's business aircraft and provide parking or refueling services for airplanes.

On Oct 22, the first of the aircraft support equipment arrived at the airport, and the complete aircraft will land in a few days.

The World Fly-in Expo is the largest air-games event in China. Aviators from more than 20 countries are expected to attend.

The seventh Military World Games will also be held at the airport in 2019. It will be the largest international competitive event held in China after the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
