“This expo has left a very strong impression on me,” said one member of a world-leading aerobatic team at the news conference of the 2017 World Fly-in Expo on Nov 4.

Not every team can have the opportunity to perform in other countries like China, said Michael Stewart, leader of the US air performance team which showed air typing techniques.

With self-developed and patented skill, the team can demonstrate “words” in the air, which can be seen from even kilometers miles away.

Stewart, the team leader, has over 4,000 hours of flight experience. He flew a successful maiden flight with an RV- Super 8 he built and finished in 2006.

“The fly-in expo is a great platform which contributes to the development of China's air sports,” said Yang Jiuhai, an official with the General Administration of Sports of China.

The 2017 WFE will be held at the Hannan General Aviation Airport in Wuhan in Hubei province from Nov 4 to 7.

The expo will showcase over 1,000 aircraft from home and abroad. Six types of activities will take place during the event: aircraft flying shows, aviation sports competitions, recording activities, community and interactive activities, static exhibitions and forums.
